Blue Bonnets at Late Afternoon

Julian Onderdonk painted bluebonnets like it was a mission. He grew up in Texas,learned everything about Impressionism with William Merritt Chase, came back home and pointed all of it at one flower. Well, not just a flower. The Texas Flower. It exists only there, stays only for 3 weeks but covers everything. People drive out just to see it. Parents photograph their kids in it every single year. Onderdonk painted it so much that he became "The Bluebonnet painter"
