The story

1565. The hunters are walking downhill with one skinny fox. The dogs have their heads low. It was a terrible hunt. But down in the valley, people are skating, playing, living. Bruegel puts you right behind the hunters so you walk into the painting with them. You feel the cold, the tired legs, and then this whole world opens up below. No other painting has ever made winter feel like this.
