View of Paris

Post-Impressionism

The story

What Van Gogh saw from his window. 1886. He'd just arrived in Paris. No one knew his name. No sunflowers yet. No swirling skies. A Dutch guy on a hill looking at a city that hasn't changed him yet. Two years in Paris would blow his whole world open. Everything we love about Van Gogh started because of what this city did to him. But right here he's still holding back. Watching. Waiting. That feeling of being new somewhere and not knowing what's about to happen to you.
