About three years since Sisley relocated from Paris to live 40 miles south, in a deep and isolated countryside. Two hours by train. Friendship is still strong, but the impressionist gang of their youth is no more. Only Berthe Morisot comes sometimes to visit him, talk about art, and tell him about art life in the big city. The rest of the year, it's this. A road, a treeline, one figure walking. Because it was what he had.
A new artwork wallpaper every week, early access to new collections, and 15% off your first order. No spam. Leave whenever you like.
