You almost miss them. Two figures right there between the pear trees, swallowed by white. Pissarro never made people the center of anything. They just belonged to the place. Same weight as the fence posts, same importance as the dirt path. Not posing. Not performing. Just existing inside a Tuesday afternoon that smells like wet soil and bloom. Others would have put them front and center. Pissarro buried them in spring.
