1879. His wife Camille is dying. He has no money. Creditors knocking at the door. He can barely feed his children. Everything is falling apart. And he walks out into the orchard and paints this. Not because he doesn't care. Not because he's escaping. Because this is how he stays alive. One more painting before the world catches up with him. This is not a man ignoring his life. This is a man surviving it the only way he knows.
