Degas held a deep affection for horses. Their warmth, their pulse, their body language. He spent hours at the racetracks, filling sketchbooks, chasing their raw power and every twitch of muscle. Here, two horses stand shoulder to shoulder, leaning on each other for reassurance. It hits on something universal. The silent trust between two creatures who simply feel safe together.
