Renoir arrived early this morning. Probably the first train out of Saint-Lazare, a quick fifteen minute ride, then a few hundred feet from Argenteuil station to Monet's garden. They painted by the river before lunch. Now they are taking the late afternoon sun. Monet paints the garden. Renoir paints his friend painting the garden. He will probably stay the night.
