The story

Marie and Félix Bracquemond were painters. She met him at the Louvre. The moment she embraced Impressionism, her husband became her rival. His jealousy, plus a century with no room for ambitious women, turned her home into a battlefield. She painted this in 1880. Ten years later, she stopped and let her marriage swallow her whole. She's remembered as one of the Three Great Ladies of Impressionism, next to Cassatt and Morisot.
