Young Girls in the Garden at Montmartre

Impressionism

The story

Montmartre was not fancy yet. It was cheap rent, wild gardens, and kids running around. Renoir loved that. He didn't paint childhood like a memory. He painted it like it was still happening. Look how the girls almost disappear into the flowers. Same reds, same warmth, same mess. They belong here. And Renoir knew that the moment you try to organize any of this, you lose it.
