1885. Van Gogh is still in Holland. He'll leave for Paris soon. Autumn leaves are still brown and the ground is still earthy and green. Typical Dutch colors.

That's because the painting is not only in the colors, it's in the fourth tree. This one is already in winter. The canvas is built and named on this idea. Soon there will be more instinct and less thinking. Soon, colors will take the ride.
