Tree Trunks in the Grass

Post-Impressionism

The story

By Christmas 1889, Vincent had decided to leave. Almost a year in Saint-Remy did not cure him. Comfort at first. Isolation and confinement after. Everything is set with Theo. But a two month breakdown delays it all. These flowers are the first thing he paints when he gets out of his room. Flowers. Details. And two strong and straight trunks. Proof that he had recovered enough to go.
