Everyone knows Grant Wood’s American Gothic, the stern man and woman in front of the farmhouse. But here’s the twist: they’re not a married couple. For over a decade, people believed they were husband and wife. Years later, Wood revealed the truth: they were actually a father and daughter. One of America’s most iconic paintings… with a secret behind those serious faces.
