Over a hundred people and not one of them is posing. They are sweating, stomping, grabbing, laughing. Bruegel was the only major painter of his time who chose peasants over saints. Nobody asked him to paint this. The art world wanted biblical scenes and royal portraits. He gave them drunk uncles and bad dancing. And 500 years later you still recognize every single person at this party.
