Summer 1890. Van Gogh has maybe a month to live. He doesn't know it yet. Or maybe he does. He walks out into the fields near Auvers and feels like regular canvases are choking the view. So he does something nobody does in 1890. He sticks two square canvases together. A 2:1 ratio. Widescreen. Panoramic. Cinemascope. Decades before cinema even thinks about it. Here it is now. Fitting perfectly on a screen that wouldn't exist for another century.
