Van Gogh painted about 15 thatched cottages in and around Auvers sur Oise. Same small town. Same roofs. Same (last) summer. Today if you wanted to see them all you would need to go to Boston, Toledo, Saint Louis, Cincinnati, Washington, Paris, Amsterdam, London, Cardiff, Saint Petersburg, Basel, Zürich, Helsinki, Vienna, Madrid. 15 cities. 9 countries. For one town and one summer. The cottages are still there. But the paintings left a long time ago.
A new artwork wallpaper every week, early access to new collections, and 15% off your first order. No spam. Leave whenever you like.
