Bathers at La Grenouillere

Impressionism

The story

Sunday on the Seine. Rented boats. People in their best clothes pretending to relax.

This place was loud, crowded, a little chaotic. The kind of spot where everyone shows up but nobody really knows what to do with themselves. Monet didn't paint the grand stuff. Just ordinary people on an ordinary afternoon trying to make the most of it. That's what made this radical. Everyday life wasn't supposed to be a subject.
