The story

Monet moved to Poissy in late 1881, but he hated it. Called the town horrible. Couldn't find a single thing worth painting. He felt stuck.

So he left. Went straight to Pourville, a part of Normandy he had never been to before. Not his childhood coast. Somewhere completely new. He spent six months there.

You can tell he loved it.
