The Seine at Rouen

Impressionism

The story

People forget the Seine was a highway. Boats, cargo, noise, industry. Monet saw all of that and still said "for me, the Seine is always new." He lived next to it for most of his life. Painted it hundreds of times. Same river, different light, different mood, different year. That's not something you say about a river. That's something you say about a relationship.
