The story

This little wooden boat rests on the Seine, right in front of Caillebotte's own property. Look the other direction and you'd probably catch one of the 30 racing yachts he owned in his lifetime. Not just owned, designed. He was obsessed with speed and modern engineering. But this humble rowboat wasn't built to race anything. It was there to get him across to the other bank. Or just to be painted.
