The story

This is the guy who made cypress trees twist like fire. Who made stars spin. Who made wheat fields vibrate like they had a pulse. And here, nothing moves. Not the two farmers on the ground. Not the horse behind them. The heat won. Van Gogh painted this in 1890 and it is one of the rare times he let the world stop.

The yellow is heavy. The blue is heavy. Even the air looks heavy. This is Van Gogh holding his breath.
