A Cowherd at Valhermeil Auvers sur Oise

Impressionism

The story

1874. This time, Pissarro was alone. Cezanne had left for the south. The two of them painted together for two years in Auvers-sur-Oise. Only a decade between them, but Pissarro was the mentor and Cezanne the rebel student. Under his guidance, painting outdoors became a habit, and color entered Cezanne's world. Thanks to Cezanne, Pissarro went more geometrical, more structured. They stayed friends all their lives.
