The story

1880. Camille is dead. Monet is 38, broken, writing desperate letters begging friends for francs to buy canvas. Sometimes to eat. The man who already painted Impression Sunrise and Woman with a Parasol is at a breaking point.

But he goes outside and paints this. Willows. A river. Some rooftops in the distance. Vétheuil in the morning. His lifeline. He has no idea Giverny is just a few years away.
