Villas at Trouville

Impressionism

The story

Monet was broke. Renoir was broke. Pissarro was always broke. Caillebotte was rich. Very. The villas in Trouville, the regattas, the gentlemen's clubs. That was his world and he liked it. But impressionism was his second one. The one he chose. Not because they needed money, even though they did. Because he shared the idea, the art, the permanent arguments about light and color and what painting could be. Family.
